Tami Halbersma
PMHNP-BC , ARNP, Owner
Tami is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and ARNP with a Master’s in Nursing Practice. Over the past twelve years, she has had the privilege of caring for individuals in a variety of settings, including OB/GYN, emergency care, crisis intervention, and mental health services for people of all ages. These experiences have shaped her thoughtful, well-rounded approach to care.
What truly sets Tami apart is her genuine, compassionate presence. She strives to create a space where people feel comfortable, heard, and respected from the very first conversation. Her approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative—working alongside each person to develop care plans that feel realistic, personalized, and supportive rather than one-size-fits-all. She has a strong passion for helping individuals navigate mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, always with a focus on building understanding, confidence, and hope.
Tami also has a special place in her heart for supporting those living with bipolar disorder. In 2022, she started a weekly bipolar support group in Des Moines to offer a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, share their experiences, and feel less alone. The group meets every Monday from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at Smokey Row, and she is always happy to provide more information to anyone interested.
