Resilient Health Services
About the Founder - Tami Halbersma
In 2023, I reached a turning point in my career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I had been working in settings where, despite best efforts, I often felt limited in my ability to truly help patients create meaningful, lasting change. That experience challenged me to reflect on what was missing—not just in the system, but in the approach to care.
I came to believe deeply that mental health care should be collaborative. Every individual deserves to be heard, understood, and actively involved in their own care. Healing is not something that happens to a person—it happens with them. Patients should feel empowered to ask questions, make informed decisions, and play a central role in their mental health journey.
That belief became the foundation for everything I wanted to build.
Why I Started This Business
One word has consistently guided my vision: resilience.
Resilience is the ability to navigate adversity, to recover, and to grow stronger through life’s challenges. It is not about avoiding the difficult times. Resilience is about developing the strength and support needed to move through it. Too many individuals have had experiences in mental health care where they felt dismissed, misunderstood, or labeled. They may have been seen as “non-compliant” rather than truly listened to. I wanted to create something different—a space where people feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported.
This practice was built to be that space.
At Resilient Health, care is collaborative and individualized. Each person is met where they are, and together we create a plan that reflects their needs, values, and goals. I am passionate about creating an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and grounded in trust—because anyone’s journey toward healing begins with feeling safe.
Vision
My vision is to redefine mental health care by becoming a trusted provider where every individual, regardless of their life circumstances, can be treated in an environment that is focused on wellness and recovery.
Mission
My mission or purpose is to provide compassion, evidence-based psychiatric care that empowers individuals to overcome life’s challenges and live resilient, fulfilling lives.
